iHeart Country Festival 2018

In the Fall of 2017 I was approached by Art Director Simon Jones at iHeart Radio to create the identity for their 2018 Country Music Festival. The project features quirky and bold illustrations of classic country iconography while visually making reference to Austin’s rich mural scene. The project necessitated highly scalable graphics, strict adherence to the grid, and a simplicity that allowed for individual pieces to be recolored or mixed & matched by the internal design team at iHeart Radio. The final project was scaled and reworked for billboards, web, an outdoor stage, and as framed art panels adorning a set used to interview country music stars Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Dustin Lynch and many others.

Bold Color, Texture and Pattern

Simple and clean illustrations were paired with gritty textures and a repeating pattern motif. Marrying this design language and playful illustrations to the grid created a fun but modular solution.

Classic meets Modern

This set designed and constructed by the team at iHeart Radio pairs a modern and colorful grid-based design system with reclaimed wooden pallet walls-the bright pop sensibility of 2018 meets rustic southern heritage.
